Kordon is the famous promenade along the coastal road between Konak and Alsancak in the centre of the city. From here you can watch the sea and the spectacular sun sets, while having a meal or a drink in the bars and restaurants along the way.

Kıbrıs Şehitleri Street:

Kıbrıs Şehitleri is one of the most popular streets for entertainment in İzmir, especially for young people and students. There are many bars, cafes and pubs along this pedestrianised street. It is located in the centre of the city in Alsancak.

This elevator was constructed in 1907 by a Jewish businessman, Nesim Levi, who wanted to make life easier for the local residents climbing up the slope to their houses on the top of the hill. In the 1930s, the lift building was extended to house a theatre, a cinema, refreshments and a photographer’s shop. Now you can experience the charming view of İzmir and have a meal from the restaurant and cafe at the top.

İzmir Wildlife Park:

İzmir Wild Life and Nature Park is an amenity area of 425 thousand square metres, which houses İzmir zoo in an open plan and landscaped environment. In order to visit the Wild Life Park in Sasalı, which is situated past Bostanli on the Karsiyaka side of the bay, you can take the number 777 bus from Bostanlı Ferryboat Station. The park is open to visitors every day of the week, including weekends and religious holidays, between 09.00 -18.00.

Culture Park:İzmir_Kültürpark

The Culture Park has played a major role in İzmir’s social and cultural life over the years. The area includes a fair ground, a running track, an open-air theatre, museums, a sports centre, art centres, a wedding hall, restaurants, tea houses, an amusement park and a parachute tower. An International İzmir Fair is organized every year at the end of the August, along with smaller fairs throughout the year.

Selçuk is a touristic town, situated 90km to the south of İzmir and 9km away from the coast. It has a rich collection of historical sites, including the famous archaeological remains of the city of Ephesus, the remains of the Temple of Artemis (which was one of the seven wonders of the ancient world), the House of the Virgin Mary and Sirince village, which is popular for its wines.
